Interspecies Friendships: Part 18

Thanks to my friend Kevin for showing me this blog: Daily Coyote.

It starts off:

"Charlie came into my life when he was just ten days old, orphaned after both his parents were killed. He lives with me and a tomcat in a one-room log cabin in Wyoming."

The blog is a photo-essay that shows the wonder and personality of Charlie the coyote, his friendship with Eli the cat, his effect on the author, and the dangerous yet beautiful land in which he lives.

The photographs that accompany most of the posts are awesome, and convey more than words ever could. They pictorially describe the breadth of Charlie's sentience, his coyote-cat-human family, and his world.

I particularly like the pictures of Charlie and Eli. In the wild, out of necessity, they would most likely be predator and prey. But under different circumstances, they're companions who clearly enjoy each others' company.

Some of the commenters in the blog talk about their own experiences with interspecies friendships, including another coyote and cat pair, and a rescued fox and dog who became best friends.
